Nebraska's wheat harvest is nearly wrapped up -- finally.
That's according to a weekly report from the National Agricultural Statistics Service's Nebraska Field Office.
The report says the harvest completed throughout much of the south and was active in the southern Panhandle last week.
Timely rains have fallen across much of the state, helping row crops like corn and soybeans. But the rains have made wheat and hay harvest difficult.
The report says wheat conditions rated 4 percent very poor, 8 poor, 32 fair, 45 good, and 11 excellent across the state. Wheat harvested was 62 percent, behind last year's 85 percent and six days behind the average of 84 percent.
