Golden Apple Award

Everyone remembers a special teacher...one that helped you through a difficult time, maybe helped you get interested in a subject that would later become a passion, or helped guide you as you made decisions about college and your future. Maybe it was a fourth grade art teacher, or a high school biology instructor. In May, KOLN/KGIN TV honors five outstanding teachers from schools in our viewing area with the 10/11 Golden Apple Awards. High School students were asked to write nomination letters about a teacher that inspired them. A committee reviewed the letters and determined the 5 teachers to honor with news stories recognizing their contributions to education and their students. Watch 10/11 News at Six and 10/11 News This Morning the week of May 19th as a different teacher each day will be awarded the 10/11 Golden Apple Award sponsored by Sylvan Learning Center and Nebraska Wesleyan University. All 5 stories will also be posted here at KOLNKGIN.com after they air. Congratulations to all the great teachers in our viewing area who were nominated.
