A Crofton, Neb., man charged with a Yankton killing could undergo a psychiatric evaluation as soon as this week.

Shane Tweedy, 29, was indicted on charges of first-degree murder and commission of a felony while armed for the May 22 slaying of Patrick Montgomery.

Montgomery's body was found in his home after neighbors reported hearing gunshots.

Tweedy dated Montgomery's daughter about three years ago.

Tweedy has not entered a plea to the charges.

At a hearing Tuesday, a Yankton County prosecutor told the judge that everything is lined up for the testing and that Tweedy likely will be transferred to the South Dakota Human Services Center later this week.
