A third tuberculosis case in a month has been diagnosed in Omaha.

A homeless man staying at the Open Door Mission was found to have an active case of TB on April 16, prompting the testing of ten staff members at the shelter.

Douglas County Health Department director Adi Pour said one staffer tested positive, but it's believed to be a false positive.

Pour said as many as 200 mission patrons will be tested.

Last month an Omaha Central High School student and a family member were diagnosed with TB.

Pour said there is no reason for panic. She said Douglas County has about ten TB cases a year.
