Although the Huskers did come out on top with a win against Kansas State, many fans say they still think the team needs lots of improvement.
It's been more than a month since fans left memorial stadium with smiles on their faces, cheering for the Big Red.
After Saturday's 73-31 win against Kansas State, coming off a five week losing streak, fans were excited with the win, but not sold on the idea that the Husker program was back on top.
"I think everyone's a little shell-shocked from the score, that we put up 70 points on them, but I think it gave great momentum, going into Colorado we need that," said Jeff Reed of Waverly.
"There's definitely lots of improvements to make. I don't think they're back on track by any means, but the blackshirts definitely did play their hearts out," said Roberto Lopez of Omaha.
"It's huge to come out with a win on the last home game of the year," said Mitch Brown of Kimball.
The last home game for fans, and possibly the coaching staff as well.
"I don't think this game will save Callahan's job, but it's a great win," said Lopez.
"I think improvement will come next season, and I think that'll come with a new coaching staff," said Reed.
"I think it's probably the coaches final home game," said James Caniglaa of Omaha.
Most fans agree, it's great to walk away with a win the last home game of the season, no matter the overall record.
"Today's game was a good prelude into next year. You're already looking at that," said Brown.
"It keeps us coming back," said Caniglaa.
If the Huskers would have lost again Saturday, it would have been the first time since 1957 to lose six or more games in a row during a season.
Fans say they're now encouraged to watch the Colorado game, and hoping to come away with wins for the final two games of this season.
