A high school senior from rural Aurora is dead following a crash Tuesday morning.

Hamilton County Attorney Mike Powell said 18-year-old Keith Traudt was on his way to school when he lost control of car on a county road. Passers-by apparently happened upon the crash shortly after it happened.

Traudt was pronounced dead at the scene, about nine miles southwest of Hampton.

Powell said Traudt was not wearing a seat belt.

A crisis team has been called to Heartland High School to help the students with their grief.
