The Dawson County Sheriff's Office responded to a death approximately seven miles northwest of Lexington, Neb. on Sunday.

The victim was identified as 49-year-old Rodney Marshall of rural Lexington.

Wednesday, autopsy results revealed the death was the result of a homicide.

The investigation is continuing.
