The People's City Mission is anxious about lending a hand to hurricane victims. "We are passionate about doing something. These are people who are sitting on the sidewalks dying, how can we not do something? We got to" says Pastor Tom Barber, the Director of the mission. Barber plans to make room in the mission for the evacuees by turning the chapel into a bedroom stacked with about 60 beds and putting 40 or 50 more beds in the t.v. room. Although, the evacuees will not be in Lincoln for about another 2 weeks because they have to be screened and answer questions about their work and personal history. Pastor Tom also plans to meet with local churches to see if they can house more evacuees in their gymnasiums.
