A Thursday night fire causes a garage to go up in flames and down power lines.

Around 10:15, Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews were called to the scene in the 1000 block of North 51st Street. LFR crews say the fire started after a resident of the home was working in his garage on a motorcycle when it back fired.

LES was also called to the scene after the fire caused power lines to go down in the area.

No one was injured and the power has been restored to the home.

LFR said two vehicles, a motorcycle, tools and other items in the garage were destroyed, for an estimated loss of $70,000. The building loss was estimated at $25,000.

Officials were still investigating the cause Friday morning.
