A crash on Interstate 80 east of Lincoln leads to a second crash that killed a Wisconsin woman.
The Nebraska State Patrol said the first crash happened around 5 p.m. Monday when a car crossed the median and was hit by another vehicle. Both drivers in that crash were wearing seat belts and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Several minutes later, as westbound traffic backed up because of the crash, a pickup slammed into the back of a semitrailer near Greenwood.
Four members of a Wisconsin family in the pickup were taken to a Lincoln hospital. Authorities say a front seat passenger in the truck, 47-year-old Dawn Reiter of Wrightstown, Wisconsin, died from her injuries.
Westbound lanes of I-80 were closed at the Greenwood exit for about two hours.
