Lincoln police believe they've caught a suspect responsible for nine thefts from unlocked vehicles in northwest Lincoln.

Police say Andrew Vanek was caught in the act of breaking into vehicles just before 5 a.m. Monday. Several citizens near 4800 North 15th held Vanek until officers arrived.

Vanek was arrested for possession of burglar tools and six offenses of larceny from auto.

Police believe Vanek and an unknown accomplice who got away are responsible for possibly three more thefts.

Hooray for the residents who held him till law enforcement arrived. People work too hard for their stuff and are getting sick of these low lifes stealing and vandalizing it. Maybe they need to get a life and a job and quit taking advantage of everyone else.
