An elementary school music teacher who was cited on misdemeanor drug charges has been placed on paid administrative leave.

Fremont schools Superintendent Steve Sexton said Wednesday that Marilyn Pueppke has been with the district for more than 30 years and has been teaching at two local elementary schools.

Sexton said he can't yet say what might happen to her district career were she found guilty of the two infractions.

The 53-year-old Pueppke was cited Friday on suspicion of marijuana possession and of possessing drug paraphernalia.

Charges against her husband, 54-year-old Willis Pueppke, include marijuana possession with intent to deliver, a felony; felony possession of cocaine; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

This story unfairly focuses on the Teacher, when it is clearly the Husbands fault. These are relatives of mine and I can assure you that while both are good people, the teacher is only guilty of bad judgement by allowing her husband to keep the drugs in the house. Just look at the charges. The teacher was cited for two misdemeanors while the husband was cited with two felonies. Taking away 31 years of service, for two misdemeanors would be a shame. This wouldn't be on anybody's radar if weren't for the pervert soccer coach.

Okay listen. Would you rather have a part time pot smoking teacher? OR the child molesting kind? I mean come on she smoked a little pot on her own time. Now the coke. I think her husband should get the full extent of the law. But as far as she goes. Make her leave. I don't care if it's with pay or without. Now I know that sounds like I don't care what the children will think or learn. But isn't it more our duty as parents to teach them right from wrong. I mean I'm not saying let her keep teaching. But lets not persecute her either. The world has much more to worry about. Child molesters, killers, terrorists, etc. I think that a pot smoking teacher is the last of our worries.

I agree. This needs to be treated like any other drug case. If it were just marijuana, I could see a little leniency, but cocaine was also involved and the intent to deliver. Thats a pretty hardcore drug that needs to be dealt with seriously.

What happened to innocent until proven guilty?! Don't be so quick to judge.

We don't need people like this in our schools. I don't care how long they have been there.. This only teaches our kids that its ok to do drugs. and if the husband was charged with intend to deliver whos to say it wasn't to a kid..GET RID OF THE TEACHER.. Charge them as you would any one else sock it to them.. Who cares if they are in good standing or not they did the crime so give them the time..
