A Shelton group formed to fight teenage drinking is campaigning for a teen center in town.

The group recently raised $5,000 for the drive.

Shelton teenager Kara Loeffler says the center would be a safe place to go where there wouldn't be any alcohol.

Nebraska first lady Sally Ganem says a 2007 survey shows that about 43 percent of Nebraska youths reported taking a drink in the past 30 days
