A 29-year-old Omaha man convicted of raping his 83-year-old neighbor has been sentenced to up to 61 years in prison.

Jayson Williams will not be eligible for parole until at least 2038. He was convicted on a number of charges, including first-degree sexual assault.

Police say Williams broke into his elderly neighbor's home the night of Dec. 30, 2005, beat the woman, pushed her down a flight of stairs and raped her.

Williams was already a convicted sex offender who had served time in prison for raping a 15-year-old girl in 2001.

His sentence should have been doubled for the crime against an elderly person. I just think that is the most dispicable crime against a elderly person. I hope the boys in prison give him a shot of his own medicne.
