On November 22, 2005 the Gage County Sheriff's office received a report that a black lab dog had been shot by some deer hunters and left dead in a field in the area of South 94th and Cherry Road. After an investigation, 30-year-old Jerry Larmeu Junior from Beatrice was cited for animal cruelty in connection with the shooting. Larmeu will appear in court in January.

The pet owner is Jamison Wallman of Adams.

"I'm just more angry than anything about how a guy can just shoot a black lab for playing," says Wallman.

Wallman may plan to take civil action against Larmeu.
