For the second time in just more than a week a Lincoln family is the victim of a drive-by shooting.

Police say early Sunday morning two men got out of a vehicle across the street from a home on the 1200 block of North 21st Street and opened fire.

The home's residents have no idea why they are being targeted, they just want it to stop.

Everything was quiet early Sunday morning as family and friends gathered on their porch at a home near 21st and Dudley in Lincoln until witnesses say a dark SUV stopped across the street. Two people got out, began yelling and then began shooting.

"I was in the house holding my son. Then, all of a sudden, I heard nine or ten gunshots go up in the air. I see my brother and his friend run inside the house. I come outside and my brother told me that someone shot from the corner over there," said resident Tyree Gaines.

"Then the police came by and searched around the house. They found holes in the house that were never there before. They found bullets on the ground."

No one was injured, but Gaines said one bullet hit near his window where he was holding his son.

Police say this is the second drive-by shooting targeting the same home in a week, but they have no suspects or motive.

"At this point, it appears to be a random act. They're not sharing with us any information of any disturbances they've had with any other people that would cause this to be a retaliation or anything," said Capt. Jim Thoms.

The victims also say they don't know why their a target, but feel lucky no one has been hurt so far. They also say their fed up with the violence and enough is enough.

"The people who did it, I ain't got no pity for them. What's coming to them is coming to them. They're nothing to me at all. I'm lucky that no one got hurt. If somebody did get hurt, then I wouldn't be here right now. I'd probably be in jail right now," Gaines said.

Police are still investigating both shootings as separate incidents. They say they'll be interviewing neighbors and processing evidence found at the scene in hopes of finding a motive and suspects.
