Lincoln police cited a man this weekend for firing a gun off at a party.

Around 2:00 Sunday morning, police were called to a party near 12th and Van Dorn Streets at the home of 26-year-old Russel Oneth.

Oneth told police some uninvited guests came to the party and a fight broke out. Police told party-goers to leave.

Then, about 40 minutes later, police were called back to the home after shots were fired.

Police say a group of six to eight males returned to the location and fired off a round.

In return, Oneth fired back from a 45-caliber handgun to scare the suspects away.

No one was injured.

Oneth was cited for discharging a weapon in city limits.
