Motorists on Nebraska roads will see more state troopers out patrolling this Fourth of July weekend.

Troopers and dispatchers will be working overtime hours thanks in part to a nearly $29,000 grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.

The extra effort began Thursday and runs through Sunday.

Troopers will be concentrating on crash-causing traffic violations and will be conducting vehicle checks for illegal fireworks.
