The Nebraska State Patrol confiscated about 345 pounds of marijuana and made five arrests in three different Interstate 80 traffic stops over the past week.
The biggest seizure happened Thursday when 220 pounds of the drug were found near Omaha after a car was stopped for following too closely. A 31-year-old California man and a 30-year-old Oregon man were arrested.
Another trooper found nearly 90 pounds of marijuana in a vehicle that was speeding near Grand Island on Friday. A 69-year-old man and 59-year-old woman from Arizona were arrested.
In a third stop Saturday, a trooper seized 35 pounds of marijuana after stopping a car for speeding near Kearney. A 26-year-old Maryland man was arrested.
