Vandals left shattered glass between 56th and 84th Streets and O and Holdrege Streets after smashing out the windows of dozens of cars.

There are currently no suspects, but a dark two or four-door Buick with a rear spoiler was spotted in the area around the same time the vandals hit. Police say with a blunt object, possibly a golf club or bat, was used to smash out the windows of 37 vehicles.

Heavy vandalism means a heavy workload for Steven Hughes.

"I'm just getting calls continuously and it just seems like every day there's vandalism being done," said Steven Hughes, Steve's Mobile Auto Glass owner.

One of those calls was from Dan Bell. His car was one of 37 vandalized Sunday morning.

"When I came out here I saw glass in the street and a whole bunch of glass every where in my car," said Dan Bell, Lincoln.

Bell said his neighbors were also hit, and Hughes has more jobs to hit before the day is done.

"We've got to pull out the old glass and everything, put the new glass in and reinstall it and reinsert the panel on it so it takes 45 minutes to an hour," he said. And it could cost up to $200.

Hughes said to location is key when protecting your vehicle from vandals.

"I just encourage people to not put your car on the street. If you got a driveway or garage, put it in there because you're just a target out there. I don't think I've put in a side glass or a back glass for vandalism when the cars been in the driveway," he said.

Unfortunately, that's not an option for Bell.

"My parents park in the driveway, so I have to park in the street," Bell said.

Officials say vandals caused at least $10,000 in damage.
