The idea of jumping out of a plane sounds a little scary to many people, but it turns out jumping out of a plane and raising money for good cause is the perfect combination for some area skydivers.

“It's fantastic everybody has to do it one time, unbelievable,” said Frank Forlini, Skydiver Organizer.

Skydivers from Nebraska and as far as Illinois came together with the American Cancer Society for the Annual Redemption Skydive Boogie.

Lincoln sport parachute club skydiver Frank Forlini said jumping out of the plane is great but knowing that you are helping people is even better.

“One of things that skydivers love so much we enjoy life a lot and skydiving is not just the about adrenaline or just getting out and being crazy it's really a way of life for a lot of us. 1and the great bonus part about that is some money can go back to the Cancer Society

Forlini said while many people are scared of the risk of falling out of a plane the reward is worth it.

“The feeling of jumping out of a airplane it's every emotion you can aspect all wrap into one big ball it's excitement there is fear of course there is a lot of adrenaline going on and the feelings are great,”

More than 100 skydivers participated in the Skydive Boogie and most felt like.

“Everybody needs to do it. fresh air nice cool breeze, beautiful blue skies

And the view was -- “Oh amazing it's just nice and quiet it's just beautiful you can see for miles miles it's just a wonderful thing to see.

This year’s event was special for the Lincoln Sport Parachute Club. A member of the club lost his battle with cancer last year.
