A young Lincoln boy is dead after apparently drowning in a residential pool.

Lincoln Police say 3 year old Kobie Jackson died Thursday evening.

Police responded to a medical emergency at 2220 N. 53rd Street around 7:30 p.m. According to police, Kobie Jackson was discovered floating in the in-ground pool during a gathering at that residence. People there pulled him from the pool and began CPR.

Police spokesperson Officer Katie Flood said 2 officers continued CPR when they arrived. Lincoln Fire and Rescue personnel then took over, and took the boy to St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 8:21 p.m.

Police said Kobie Jackson did not live at the home where the incident occurred.

An autopsy was scheduled for Friday morning. Officer Flood said the investigation is continuing, but at this time, the death appears to be accidental.

Contributions to a memorial fund for the family of Kobie Jackson can be made at any Wells Fargo Bank or Alternative Tan location.
