Keith County officials didn't discover a wrecked Pontiac until a day after an accident that killed a Colorado woman last week.

Keith County Attorney Blake Edwards says 31-year-old Kimberly Percel of Ovid, Colorado, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident near Brule.

Edwards said witnesses reported hearing a loud noise Thursday night, but didn't find anything. So the noise wasn't reported.

Percel's 1991 Pontiac was found Friday.

Edwards said it appears that Percel missed a turn and struck an embankment with tremendous force.

Edwards said Percel was not wearing a seatbelt.
