A motorcycle rider died Wednesday after colliding with a pickup truck near Ravenna.

Buffalo County officials say 70-year-old Eugene Schutte of Lincoln was driving his motorcycle east on State Highway 2 when it collided with a southbound truck driven by 84-year-old Gordon Bernet of Ravenna around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Schutte was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney where he later died.

Bernet was taken to a Grand Island hospital, but the extent of that driver's injuries weren't immediately clear.
