A woman is robbed at knife point while sitting in her driveway. Police say they have the man responsible behind bars.

The robbery happened just before 8 a.m.Thursday morning.

Police have arrested 39-year-old Rodney Mann. They say he held a knife to the victim's throat and took her purse.

The morning seemed like any other for 28-year-old Elizabeth Hamill. She was sitting in her car in her driveway just like any other day, but then everything changed.

"Suddenly, a man approached her with a knife. He put that knife to her throat and then reached across her grabbing her purse," said Officer Katie Flood.

The man ran away. Hamill, now without her cell phone, which she kept in her purse, and with newly acquired cuts on her neck, drove to a nearby SunMart to call police.

Officers were on scene in a matter of minutes and began canvassing the entire area.

"Another officer searching neighboring areas saw a man that somewhat matched the description run into a building in the 600 block of South 20th. The officer also saw that the victim's cell phone on the ground near where the man was last scene," Flood said.

Officers tracked the suspect to 612 South 20th St. and found him hiding inside a sofa

They also found the Hamill's purse and all it's contents.

Mann was arrested for robbery and use of a firearm to commit a felony.

Luckily, police say, Hamill was not seriously injured.
