Police cited a man after neighbors say he shot their cat Thursday night.

Police say a couple was in their home in the 400 block of Blue Flame when they heard a thump on their wall.

When they checked out the noise, they found blood on the wall and followed a trail under their porch where they found their cat.

They took the pet to the vets where it died from a gunshot wound.

Police say another witness saw 53-year-old Daniel Roach shoot the animal.

Police cited and released Roach for discharging a firearm within the city limits and cruelty to animals.
