An Omaha attorney ticketed six times for driving drunk won't be punished more than she already has been.

Willow Head served a nine-day house arrest sentence and is on probation for drunken driving. She wasn't punished more because the Douglas County District Court ruled that not all of her DUI offenses could be considered. That included one in 2002 because the Omaha law she was convicted of violating then was later struck down by the state high court.

The state's Court of Appeals ruled that the district court should have counted it. The state Supreme Court upheld that decision on Friday.

But the high court said it couldn't send the case back for more sentencing because doing so would amount to punishing Head twice for the same crime.

I would think the State would be liable if she kills someone on the road drunk then. The bill will be pasted to Nebraska tax payers to pay!

"Chronic alcoholic"? paz t: You need education of alcoholism. I am also a Chronic alcoholic and I have enjoyed a sober life for the last ten years. So the fact that this person has a disease, and you make it sound "bad" is just a sample of the misinformation in the "better than you" world.

This is unbelievable!! How is she still out of jail!! Probation only?! This is a chronic alcoholic without any regard for herself or others. She should lose her driver's license permanently and be unable to have a vehicle. Driving is a priviledge not a right!

I no some one who just got their 1st DUI and was sentenced to 9mts probation has to take AA classes for 9mts has to take classes at blue valley behavior health and 2 other classes plus lost her licence and has to pay almost 900 in fines and pay for probation and all the classes so it will run her around 5,000 and this is just for a 1st offence.. I am sure this person would have been more than happy to just serve 9day house arrest and probation...Just depends on who you are.. They should all get the same for the offence and not let the courts or judges show favor in some people...GET REAL NE COURTS..IF THEY DO THE CRIME THEY SHOULD DO THE TIME LIKE EVERYONE ELSE..WHO CARES IF THEY ARE A LAWYER OR A JANITOR OR WHAT THEY DO.. PUNISHMENT SHOULD BE THE SAME FOR EVERYONE

sounds like a cop could just go sit by her house on a friday or saturday night and wait for her to drive somewhere and could get her again for dui.

Shouldn't her license be revoked FOR LIFE? 6 offenses?! Just because a law got struck down after one of the times she was caught doesn't mean it erases the fact she did it in the first place... if it were any other person but an attorney with connections who could pull some strings, they would be in jail and never be allowed to drive again. This is ridiculous. Where is the justice?

There's an inmate in York doing 20 years without parole on a 4th DUI. She was sentenced in Florida--where they obviously take the safety of their citizens more seriously than Douglas County Nebraska does!!!

As far as I'm concerned this is proof positive. There are seperate laws. One for the average citizen and then there are the laws for the wealthy and privilaged, celebrities, police, judges, and liars, er, ah, I meam lawyers!

OMG!!!!! Does the state of NE really have to wait untill this person kills someone before putting her away? She is a lawyer, so she should definately know better. Maybe she should also be dis-barred?? Get on the ball NE! Protect your citizens from people like this!

Shouldn't there be some MORE JAIL TIME? REHAB? I have heard of people with fewer offeses being punished more severely than this!!

So, let's wait until she kills some one and then do something about it. Slap her wrist and let her go. Amazing!!!
