A La Vista man accused of shaking his wife to death last year has pleaded no contest to a lesser charge and will be sentenced in October.
Jeffrey Krzemien was originally charged with manslaughter and two-counts of first-degree domestic assault.
He pleaded no contest on Monday to abuse of a vulnerable adult.
Krzemien was charged in May 2007 after his wife, Marnie, died. According to the autopsy, her injuries were similar to those suffered by infants in "shaken baby" cases. The doctor who did the autopsy said she was killed by a large blood clot on her brain that was caused by the shaking.
Krzemien told investigators he shook his wife during an argument the night before she died.
