Christopher Klein and Tiffany Bohlen

A criminal case against a Grand Island woman accused in the death of her baby has been dismissed.

Tiffany Bohlen was charged with manslaughter in the February death of her 7-week-old daughter, Caitlynne.

According to police, the infant died after a pacifier was placed in her mouth, a blanket was wrapped around her head and she was squeezed against the side of her bassinet with a pillow.

Bohlen's boyfriend, Christopher Klein, pleaded no contest on Tuesday to manslaughter. His sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 30.

In a decision by Hall County Judge David Bush, evidence presented during Bohlen's preliminary hearing indicates it was Klein who wrapped the baby and put her to bed the night she died.

BUT, aren't we as parents ultimately responsible for the well being of our children? Yes, accidents can happen, but some can be prevented!!

JLM has no idea what the mother of this child is like. She was never abusive towards her child. This was indeed a very tragic loss for her and the rest of her family. the biggest problem with this case was all the incorrect information that was reported by the media and word of mouth by people who didn't even know what happened. I bet no one but the family knows that just a couple of months earlier the family had lost their home and all their belongings in a fire. And in this fire this innocent child had smoked inhalation and the doctors dismissed her without even checking the severity of damage to her tiny little lungs. We do need to stand up for our children, but be sure that you know all the facts of the case before you make your judgments against the parents. Remeber one more thing too, we are all human and mistakes and tragedy happen to children and people of all ages.

The baby case where the baby died by sufficating, the mom and dad should be charged. That is just wrong. I will pray for the baby's soul.

Another innocent child gone forever because of child abuse. When will our state and local officials get tougher laws for people who hurt, abuse, and kill children? Get going Nebraska, call-email-write a letter to your representatives-WHATEVER, just get them to stop the leniency and laid back approach they have taken with these abusers. WE NEED TO STAND UP FOR CHILDREN NOW BEFORE ANOTHER CHILD HAS TO DIE.
