Authorities have identified two people killed when the motorcycle they were repairing in the basement of their Genoa home backfired, sparking an explosion.
Chief Deputy Mark Monroe of the Nance County Sheriff's Department on Tuesday identified them as 49-year-old Tracy Holmstedt and 14-year-old Ricardo Osantowski.
Monroe said two other people in the basement during Saturday's explosion and fire were injured. Their names and the extent of their injuries are not available.
Ken Alderman of the Columbus-based Prairie Valley Red Cross says one of the survivors was a woman who lived in the home. Five children, including the teen who died, also lived there.
The Nebraska State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
