A rural Boelus man accused of sexually assaulting woman many times over the past 10 years has pleaded not guilty.

Lawrence Millspaugh enter the plea to two counts of first-degree sexual assault and a weapons charge on Friday in Sherman County District Court. If convicted, the 60-year-old faces up to 50 years in prison on each count.

County Attorney Mark Eurek says the 18-year-old woman reported being sexually abused by Millspaugh since she was 8.

According to court records, Millspaugh threatened the girl with a gun on July 18 and had previously threaten to kill himself when she tried to end the alleged abuse.

Millspaugh is being held in the Valley County Jail.
