The Nebraska Department of Economic Development has awarded $100,000 in grants to help low-income people in Antelope and Holt counties buy homes.

CORE Development in Neligh will use the money to help homebuyers earning incomes at or below 80 percent of the median income in the area to make down payments on five homes.

Eligible towns include Brunswick, Clearwater, Chambers, Elgin, Ewing, Inman, Neligh, Oakdale, Orchard, Page, Royal and all of Antelope County.

The homes will be purchased within about two years.
