Students at Heartland School in Henderson were greeted Tuesday with bag searches and pat downs after a bomb threat at the school.

Officials at the school took extra precautions after finding a written bomb threat that forced evacuations Monday.

According to Superintendent Norm Yoder, the extra security measures were taken after a bomb threat was discovered Monday afternoon, scrawled on a bathroom stall.

The threat indicated the bomb was supposed to be on campus today.

"You hope that it's a hoax, and probably 99 pecercent sure that it is a hoax but for the safety of the students we just felt that we couldn't take that chance," said Superintendent Norm Yoder.

Superintendent Yoder said the building was also searched by authorities and dogs.

Yoder said parents could choose to keep their children home Tuesday--and half of them did.
