Students at Goodrich Middle School were kept after school because a suspicious man was spotted near the school.

Officer Katie Flood with the Lincoln Police Department said the man appeared to be carrying something resembling a long gun wrapped in a blanket.

Goodrich Principal Mike Henninger said students were kept in school for about 15 minutes after the normal dismissal time. Students were released after police determined it was safe for them to leave.

Officer Flood said officers patrolled the area but the man was not immediately found.
