The wife of Nebraska Republican Senator Chuck Hagel plans to endorse Democrat Barack Obama.

Lilibet Hagel has scheduled a 10 a.m. news conference in Virginia tomorrow with Susan Eisenhower, the daughter of Republican President Eisenhower.

Chuck Hagel has made no endorsement.

Lilibet Hagel says in an Associated Press interview that her decision was independent of her husband. She says she didn't know whether he would make an endorsement or whom he would support.

Lilibet Hagel says this will be her first endorsement of a Democrat. She says the ongoing wars and growing national debt were factors.

The Hagels know John and Cindy McCain, but Lilibet Hagel says her endorsement was not meant to slam the McCains.

Chuck Hagel is not seeking a third Senate term. He has been a fierce critic of the Bush administration's Iraq policies.

During the summer, he accompanied Obama and Democratic Senator Jack Reed of Rhode Island to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Who cares Hagel's wife is supporting! What did Chuck have his wife do his dirty work for him? He is not going to say that he supports Berry Hussein Obama because that would completely make him a lefter!

Hey Ricahard, you bump you head? Obama is the last chance alright, of finally wrecking this country with more taxes, more spending, retreating from Iraq, and he has zero, no one accomplishment you and your liberal friends can every name! He is bogus, and alot of uneducated people out there like you actually believe what you hear in the liberal run media! If Obama is elected we'll be at war with terrorists here and worldwide as it is the weakness they are hoping for, they want obama elected!

I have not had much respect for Hagel since his criticism of the Iraq war. I definitely have no respect for him or his wife now. Obama is a scarry character. The blame for the Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac crisis lies squarely in the laps of the Democrats. Just watch the youtube video about the congressional hearings looking into Fannie and Freddie!!!

Actually, Susan Eisenhower is Dwight's grandaughter, daughter of his son John. This is good news about Mrs. Hagel, though. I just hope Senator Hagel will endorse Obama also. Senator Obama is this country's last chance now. If McCain/Palin get in, we'll be at war with Iran before we know it, and at least a cold war with Russia.

Well consider the source, liberal anti-American politicians stick together.

JM: The neocons are the true embarrassment to the republican party. They've thrown all the hallmarks of conservatism to the side in order to progress their american empire idealism. Fiscal responsibility has gone to the birds, small government has been replaced with the largest increase in government in american history, personal freedoms trampled in the name of "national security", and they have walked all over the constitution and bill of rights in order to conduct their crusade against Islam. America used to be the rallying cry for freedom the world over, now it rallies the rest of the world against imperialist motivations coming from the american government. where we used to be universally respected, now we are defamed. Hagel and those like him provided a counter voice to the neocons who have profited by the suffering they have caused here and abroad. Its really too bad that you can't make sound arguments for you views, and instead just throw smears and hate like McCain and Palin.

She and her husband need to switch parties already. They're such an embarassment to the Republican party. Good thing he isn't running, there's NO WAY he would've been voted back in and he knew it. One word Hagels-TRAITORS. Look it up in the dictionary, there should be a picture of the two of you beside it.

Thank you for endorsing the best candidate for America at this moment Mrs Hagel. Your husband has been one of the primary reasons that i proudly claim to be a Nebraskan because of how he handled himself in the senate and on the national stage. I was very disappointed to learn that he would not be running for Senate again, as i felt that he is one of the few Senators who truly had a grip on the pulse of the American people. His voice of reason and his experience will be sorely missed in the Senate and on the national stage. i hope that he will find a place in the cabinet of the next president, if that is his desire.

It's really a shame that Hagel won't seek a third term. I had doubts when he started, but he really is the definition of bipartisanship.

NOT MUCH NEWS HERE, OTHER THAN HER POOR CHOICES IN SPOUSES DOESN'T SAY MUCH OF HER OPINION
