A Lincoln man ends up in the hospital after police say he was shot trying to break up a fight at a party.

Police say Diego Carter was at the party at 1011 Peach Street when two men got into a fight around 1:30 Sunday morning. Police say Carter stepped in and during the altercation he was shot in the abdomen.

Friends took Carter to Bryan LGH West where he had to undergo surgery but is recovering with non-life threatening wounds. Police are looking for several suspects in the case.
