Lincoln Police say two of their officers were assaulted while trying to make an arrest early Sunday morning near 53rd and Adams.

Police say 25-year-old Brandon Bauer of Lincoln beat up his 20-year-old pregnant girlfriend.

When officers got him in the police car, Bauer reportedly kicked the window of the cruiser.

Police say the officers tried to stop him and he kicked one officer in the leg, and was able to get one hand out of his handcuffs and struck the other officer in the back of the head with those handcuffs.

Bauer was arrested for felony third degree assault of a pregnant woman and two counts of 3rd degree assault of a police officer. He was also cited for possession of drug paraphenilia, failure to comply, hindering arrest and providing false information.
