Lincoln police say a 14 year old is in custody for his role in a car theft and high speed chase.

Police say they were able to tie the teen to a Chevy Malibu stolen on January 8th. Police say the car was involved in a gas drive-off and high speed chase Tuesday morning.

Later in the day officers were able to track down the teen and he led them to the car. Police aren't sure if he was involved in the theft, or was the driver during the chase, but know he drove the vehicle at some point. He was arrested for theft by receiving and taken to the youth detention center.
