A seven-year-old girl died Thursday north of Imperial when the minivan her mother was driving struck the back of a semitrailer.

According to the Chase County Sheriff's Department, the minivan driven by Arlyce Chrisman of Imperial hit the back of a semi that was slowing to turn left off of a state highway onto a county road.

Chrisman received injuries to her lower body, and her daughter Natalie Berry was killed. Chrisman's other, younger daughter was also in the minivan, but was not injured.
