Bob Kerrey will be in Omaha this weekend.
The former Nebraska governor and U.S. senator is considering a bid for the Senate seat to be vacated by Republican Chuck Hagel.
Democrats are hoping he'll run, a counterweight to the possible candidacy of Republican Mike Johanns. He has quit as U.S. agriculture secretary and is expected to announce his candidacy soon.
Already in the race are three Republicans: Attorney General Jon Bruning, former Congressman Hal Daub and Schuyler businessman Pat Flynn.
Paul Johnson, who managed both of Kerrey's Senate campaigns, says Kerrey will be spending some Nebraska time with his family.
Johnson says Kerrey won't hold any public events, and Johnson isn't expecting any announcements.
