A male and female were taken to a Lincoln hospital Friday morning after what police call a double stabbing.

Captain Dennis Duckworth says officers were called to an apartment complex at 2101 D street about 10 o'clock Friday morning.

Duckworth says two people were found injured in one of the apartments.

According to Duckworth, a male and female were taken to Bryan LGH West with non-life threatening injuries.

A police official says the male has been released from the hospital.

Investigators say a kitchen knife was recovered in the apartment, which they believe was the weapon used.

No other injuries were reported.

Duckworth says they are treating it as a domestic situation.

Officials believe the two people stabbed each other.

A neighbor tells 10/11 news they heard arguing shortly before authorities were called to the scene.

A police spokesman says there have not been any arrests made in the case, but the investigation continues.
