A 17-year-old Kearney boy who admitted to hitting a police officer and a high school teacher has been given indefinite probation.
The boy had acknowledged in Buffalo County Juvenile Court that he elbowed the officer in the side of his face after striking an industrial technology teacher.
The incident occurred in December.
At the boy's sentencing last month, the judge also ordered him to write letters of apology, do 100 hours of community service, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and have no contact with the teacher unless in a school setting.
The district suspended the boy after the incident, and he will remain suspended until this fall.
