Around 10 p.m. Saturday a power outage sent part of Lincoln into the dark.

Lincoln Electric Officials say the outage stretched for about 50 square blocks, from 10th to 20th Streets and L to R Streets.

LES officials said the outage was caused by a large tree blowing over onto a transmission line from the wind.

Power was back on around 11:30 p.m.

Thank you to LES for restoring power as quick as they could on Saturday night. I understand that it was a big inconvience for some especially the businesses downtown, but those men and women who work the crews put their life on the line every time they go out into a storm to fix stuff like this. I greatly appreciate the call I receved from LES around 12:15 to make sure that my power was restored. Thank you men and women for everything.
