A Lexington stay-at-home mom of four has turned diaper duty into a moneymaking enterprise.

Jen Leibert, 29, said she switched to cloth diapers about a year ago. Now, the emerging entrepreneur is selling diapers similar to the ones she makes for her own use.

The mother of four switched to making her own cloth diapers with her fourth child to save money. She only intended to sew diapers for her own baby, but when she mentioned in an online post that she made her own diapers, people started making requests.

Cloth diapers today aren't like the ones of generations ago.

Velcro or snaps have replaced pins to mimic the convenience of disposable diapers. Diaper covers, made of decorative fabric and a waterproof material sewn together, are used instead of plastic pants.

Leibert advertises online at http://jenmammaof4.etsy.com and calls her shop Jen's Diaper Doodies.
