University of Nebraska-Lincoln planners are taking suggestions from developers for a research park planned for the State Fair site.
A state law authorizes moving the fair from its 107-year-old home to Grand Island by 2010. That will leave the fairgrounds in Lincoln for development by the university, which wants to use it for a cluster of public research facilities.
The university has asked developers to submit ideas for Innovation Campus by Aug. 15. Three to five proposals will be selected for further discussion.
University officials say the research park will attract high-tech companies that will capitalize on the work of its researchers. They expect agricultural biotechnology and life science research to be prominently featured.
