University of Nebraska officials are investigating two UNL wrestlers, including a national champion, for their involvement in pornography.

National champion Paul Donahoe and teammate Kenny Jordan have been posing for pornographic photos featured on a gay porn site, however the two are shown individually.

The series of photos show the two wrestlers in various stages of undress, including full frontal nudity.

UNL wrestling head coach Mark Manning released a statement that said the situation is being reviewed internally, and that they are aware of the situation.

Are these guys underage? No., so it shouldn't be a problem. If its a way for them to earn some extra cash, then its not anybodys business.

This is old news so why are we still talking about it and as far as role models go umm what kids are looking at gay porn? The only way kids know they posed for gay porn is the publicity that the grown ups are giving it! If you don't want your kids to know about it STOP TALKING ABOUT IT! sheeesh people grow up!!!!

It seems to me that in a "Free" society (someone remind me, the U.S. is still considered the land of the "Free"?)that what these gentlemen did, is no ones business. They did not hurt anyone. They were exercising their freedom to be happy and to express themselves. I would encourgae them to sue the NCAA. Grow up America.

Posted by: joey on Aug 14, 2008 at 07:35 AM
again, UNL is enforcing an NCAA rule. thats the bottom line. can everyone understand that? the playboy girls were not on a sport team, i believe. this conversation is done! move on......

Posted by: Rules Are Rules on Aug 13, 2008 at 12:02 PM
It's an NCAA rule that NCAA athletes can't profit from their photos. They did, and that's why they got the boot. They knew the rules, and they went ahead and did it anyway.

Posted by: Dan Location: Lincoln on Aug 13, 2008 at 11:12 AM
I don't see why anyone thinks what they did is anybody's business. It was their private life. Sort of a don't ask don't tell thing. How is it any different from the playboy girls? They weren't 'representing' their school when they did this. It's not like they had a big N stapled to their foreheads saying, "look at me I'm from UNL and I'm naked!" I agree, it maybe wasn't the smartest decision on their part, but it was their decision. Everyone makes a less than perfect decision, so don't be too quick to judge.

I don't seen what the big problem is - we all have to work to support ourselves, and this is how these two are supporting themselves during their education. Live and Let Live, that is all I can say...

I'll have to demur to GetEmTo. He has a very valid point.

Posted by: joey on Aug 12, 2008 at 11:43 AM
to GetEmTO....right on. this debate is over.

Their parents must be so proud.

Posted by: ME Location: Lincoln on Aug 11, 2008 at 05:47 PM
I agree with Cartman, God brought us into this world nude. Why do some people have such a problem with posing nude? If that is what they wanted to do then more power to them! Leave them alone for crying out loud!!

Posted by: GetEmTO Location: Iowa on Aug 11, 2008 at 02:30 PM
Moral or immoral, I suppose isn't even that relavent. They messed up according to the governing laws they chose to subject themselves to. Therefore what they did was wrong.

Posted by: GetEmTO Location: Iowa on Aug 11, 2008 at 02:27 PM
Parents should not encourage thier kids to find role models in NCAA athletes. That being said, these two certainly did do something wrong. As National Champions (one JUCO) I am sure these two are on big schoolarships. They are not free to express themselves however they want. NCAA rules prohibit the use of NCAA athletes' image being used for profit. Since the NCAA is a non profit organization, money made from athletic events does not count (See ESPN comercial using Matt Leinhart a few years ago). Second, they are only allowed to make so much money and the jobs have to be legit (see Oklahoma QB a few years ago). So being paid for this is wrong. Since they will be found in violation of NCAA rules, they will be punished, and will then let thier team down. A team that should be in national title contention with them, and struggle to crack the top 15 without.

How is this different from the UNL female athletes that posed for Playboy a few years ago? How did "parent" explain that to his kids?? Leave them alone, I'm sure they're just trying to pay some bills.

Posted by: anonymous Location: lincoln on Aug 11, 2008 at 12:41 PM
what's to say these pics were sent to like playgirl and instead posted on a the gay sight? and if that is wrong better start investigating every one. how many scandals include religious, political, and other prominate figures. people that should be looked into.

Posted by: longharryd Location: lincoln on Aug 11, 2008 at 11:59 AM
i think they should be left alone it's there choice to do what they want to do they don't need anybodys mommy tellin them what they can and ccan't be doing. if they're gay they're gay, who cares?

Posted by: Herbie Location: Lincoln on Aug 11, 2008 at 10:45 AM
Evidently these guys werent just posing. They had the situation well in hand you might say. I just cant believe the standards of behavior in this country have dipped so low into the sewer as to think this sort of thing is acceptable.

While it really is "to each his own" these boys are bound by different rules as scholarship athletes. They have to follow the NCAA rules and if they received money for doing this, that is a violation. Right or wrong, it's a rule that these boys were aware of.

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 11, 2008 at 09:22 AM
These boys did nothing wrong (I assume they are over 18). I wonder who was looking at this site and discovered the boys? :)

To: parent NU wrestlers are not "local celebrities"

Posted by: david Location: lincoln on Aug 11, 2008 at 08:05 AM
who cares! and a responsiblity? to who? to themselveles? to be themselves? to be proud and honest about themselves and who they are? now thats a role model! not to hide and be someone you are not and to conform to make everyone else happy. and tell there kids? good grief, are you aware most kids dont care? most kids are aware of gay people, have no problem and accept gay people . its the "adults" who are close minded and have the issues. grow up and enter the current century. we here , we're everywhere and we're NOT going away! and as for being a celebrity--i am more than ready to send my kids for an autograph! they accept me and everyone else for just who i am, a caring responsible adult!

I hope they made a lot of money, because their wrestling careers are probably over.

Posted by: Cartman on Aug 11, 2008 at 04:48 AM
And what exactly did they do wrong? God brought us into this world nude... is there something wrong with that? Sheesh!

Posted by: anne Location: lincoln on Aug 10, 2008 at 09:55 PM
Nowadays, with the ability of photo editing software, maybe we should look at the possibility that these young men have been the victims of a hoax. Look at the necklines of the photos. They may have been duped...their heads on other bodies. Anyway, why would two guys like that do something like this...I'm not so certain they did.

Posted by: rob Location: albany, ny on Aug 10, 2008 at 09:39 PM
These two boys didn't do anything wrong. And they don't have any responsibility towards anyone else's chidren so look for "role models" somewhere else. I hope that they have sucess and support in whatever they decide for themselves.

Posted by: Citizen Location: Lincoln on Aug 10, 2008 at 02:26 PM
This is newsworthy? And to "Parent"... What is wrong with what they did that they cannot be role models anymore?

Posted by: bob on Aug 10, 2008 at 01:20 PM
Collge kids are broke. You gotta do what you gotta do. Im sure it was very easy money for them, as opposed to working by the hour.

Posted by: Hello on Aug 10, 2008 at 11:26 AM
Are these boys 18 years or older? If so, it is not illegal. They can do what they want. They should not be punished for this.

Posted by: Doesn't Matter on Aug 10, 2008 at 02:14 AM
So what? Doesn't affect anything. You'll find this story with any university with any athletic program in some form or fashion. If it violates statutes that were in their scholorships (if they are on one), then take whatever option is needed, but otherwise, this doesn't effect anything and doesn't reflect anything onto Nebraska or the University.

if it were any other college kids no one would think twice it's because they are wrestlers and are in the spotlight.

Posted by: Ted Location: Lincoln on Aug 9, 2008 at 10:24 PM
Who cares! Remember the first amendment...I'm sure that covers that.

Posted by: Parent Location: Lincoln on Aug 9, 2008 at 09:59 PM
Oh boy! What were these guys thinking? Didn't they know this would become public? How are parents supposed to explain this to their kids?? It's so hard to find good role models. What's next??? Don't our coaches tell these college athletes that they become "local celebrities" There needs to be some responsibility going along with that.
