A man serving a life prison sentence for killing a Lincoln man in 2005 faces charges in a robbery that happened a week before the fatal shooting.

Antonio Banks is charged with robbery, terroristic threats and two counts of use of a weapon to commit a crime. Police say Banks and another man forced their way into a home in Lincoln on Aug. 21, 2005, and threatened and robbed two people.

Prosecutors filed charges last week against Banks, who's serving a life sentence for killing Robert Herndon.

Banks was arraigned on a new charges on Wednesday -- a day before the statute of limitations would have run out to charge him with the crime. His next court date is Sept. 15.
