As thousands of kids headed to the Husker football game Saturday, dozens more decided to take it easy and go fishing.
The second annual Fishing Clinic for Kids took place at Holmes Lake Saturday.
Kids were able to get their feet wet by learning how to fish, the importance of water safety, and how to have a fun and safe time at the lake.
Organizer Betty Clayton said the reactions from the kids were priceless.
"The most rewarding thing is when they come up they have a big smile on their face. We had some kids master angler fish and that's what makes it all worth while, is them having a good time and them catching fish," said Clayton.
The Nebraska Wall-Eye Fishing Association provides free fishing clinics all over the state for special need kids.
Each kid that participated in the clinic received free fishing gear and a tackle box.
