Four months after it was destroyed by a tornado, the Little Sioux Scout Ranch in southwest Iowa will celebrate the rebuilding of the ranger's house and hold a scout camping event.

A tornado hit the ranch near Little Sioux on June 11, killing four scouts and injuring 48 others.

The storm also destroyed a building many of the scouts took shelter in and the ranger's house.

The camp remains closed while other rebuilding projects continue.

A news release from the Boy Scouts says there will be a flag raising ceremony and ribbon cutting on Oct. 11. A camping event also is scheduled for that weekend.

Scouts spokeswoman Katie Kassebaum says the ranch remains closed. The camping event will be held in an area not damaged.
