On Friday, the Gage County Sheriff's Office, Adam's Fire and Rescue, Lincoln ALS Ambulance and the Nebraska State Patrol responded to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 41 and 34C Spur.

A 1996 Mercury Marquis driven by 69-year-old Delmar Eilers of Sterling was driving west on Highway 41. Eilers slowed down to turn south on 34C Spur into Adams. When he began to turn, he was struck in the driver's side by a 2000 Freightliner semi driven by 48-year-old William A. Beggs of Guilford, Missouri, who was also driving west on Highway 41.

Adams Fire and Rescue extricated Eilers from his car and Lincoln ALS transported him to Bryan LGH West for injuries sustained in the accident. Beggs was not injured.

Highway 41 was closed for approximately 30 minutes until the semi was removed from the road. Beggs was cited for driving too close.
